Carolyn Finis explains why Sigma Healthcare’s untied funding is critical to the Summer Foundation’s systems change advocacy work.

The value of untied corporate support to a nonprofit cannot be overestimated. While project funding is vital to keep the wheels of nonprofit organisations turning, it is untied money that enables the nimble response to emerging issues that can make such a difference.

For the Summer Foundation, the importance of flexible, untied funding has been proven time after time through the support we have received as the charity partner of Sigma Healthcare. During the seven-year relationship we have benefitted to the tune of nearly $200,000 – such a great enabler for our work to stop young people with disability being forced to live in aged care because there is nowhere else for them.
