Face-to-face fundraising was hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic. So, when someone went above and beyond to support the sector, it didn’t go unnoticed. That person is Michele Wilkinson. Michele created the ‘COVID Campfire Strategy’ during the 2020 lockdowns. Her intent was to keep everyone in the F2F supply chain connected and to ‘keep the fire burning’ during an incredibly uncertain time. Opportunities to connect, mostly facilitated on Zoom, included networking, education, mental health activities, compliance upskilling, business development and life skill courses, personal training, workouts, nutrition, yoga, charity client connection calls, quiz nights, general Q&A and much more!
Michele then developed a second phase, the ‘COVIDSafe Re-Launch Strategy’, liaising with key stakeholders such as government, regulatory bodies, charities, sub-contractors, marketing companies, shopping centres and fundraisers to identify and address community concerns.
