In this video presentation, Charidy Senior Consultant Emma Boyar reveals how Sisterworks made its recent giving day event a success.
At the height of the Covid-19 lockdown, Sisterworks decided to press forward with its first 24-hour giving day event.
SisterWorks is a small nonprofit founded in 2013 and based in the inner-Melbourne suburb of Richmond. Its mission is to empower women who are refugees, asylum seekers and migrants. It does so by providing opportunities for work, entrepreneurship and community connection.
The giving day, held on April 22, had a target of $80,000. In addition to raising funds in an efficient way, its aims were to uncover a community of donors and raise the organisation’s profile.
Charidy Senior Consultant Emma Boyar worked closely with Sisterworks to set up the campaign and make it a success.
In this case study from the 2020 Generosity Forum, Boyar reveals the key steps Sisterworks took to meet its goals and exceeded its target in tough circumstances.
