Grant:  Preventing Violence Through Sport Grants Program

Areas of support: Acknowledging the enormous capacity community sport has to influence positive behaviours and attitudes and prevent all forms of violence against women by supporting organisations to design and deliver primary prevention activity within community sport settings. It will contribute to create a Victoria where all Victorians experience equality and respect in all their relationships and live free from violence. It will provide funding to support innovative partnerships to address the drivers of family violence and violence against women in their community through a range of approaches. This includes addressing the drivers of sexual violence in young people, and the delivery of youth-focused programs that promote healthy relationships and community understanding of family violence.

Areas of support: Funding for groups or organisations to fund short-term, one-off, communication and outreach projects that aim to achieve the following objectives: Address barriers to accessing information on COVID-19 and the vaccination program; Provide the opportunity for communities to identify and respond to issues and concerns surrounding COVID-19 and the vaccination program; Provide accurate and culturally relevant information on the COVID-19 Vaccination Program; Foster community involvement and participation; Encourage partnerships among community organisations.

Areas of support: Grants provided through the Program will assist community organisations, tertiary institutions and Local Government to: increase the number of Tasmanians who are accepting of diversity; improve resilience and capacity in the LGBTIQ+ community; foster inclusion, respect and dignity for LGBTIQ+ Tasmanians; and enhance access to services and increase participation for LGBTIQ+ Tasmanians.

Areas of support: Provides funding to community groups and not-for-profit organisations in Queensland to enhance their capacity to provide services, leisure activities and opportunities for Queensland communities. Funding applications are prioritised in the following order (with 1 being highest priority): (1) Items/facilities directly affected, damaged or destroyed by a declared natural disaster in the last 2 years; (2) Equipment or facility improvements; (3) Vehicles; (4) Community events, training, workshops, festivals, publications and website development; (5) Organisations that have received more than $15,000 from the GCBF over the past 2 years.
