The stats are compelling when it comes to Carl Young’s success as a fundraiser and nonpfrofit leader. Net revenue grew from $17 million in FY16 to $23.9 million in FY21 — an increase of 40%. Peter Mac’s donor base grew from 109,000 in FY16 to 124,469 in FY2021 — an increase of 14.1%.
One of Carl’s biggest achievements was overseeing the growth of Peter Mac’s fledgling face-to-face program to become the main driver of fundraising growth, accounting for recruitment of 85% of the foundation’s active regular givers. He handled a controversy relating to the operations of a face-to-face fundraising supplier with skill and grace and went on to handle another threat to the program — a pandemic-driven pause on F2F activities. Last financial year, $16 million was generated from more than 47,000 active regular givers.
