What did you want to be when you grew up?
As a kid, I’m pretty sure I wanted to be Batman. Through high school it was probably Michael Jordan. Unfortunately, I lacked the physical gifts and monetary resources to pursue either of those dreams after I left school.
At uni, I majored in marketing, psychology, international business and Japanese. This drove me to aspirations of working in a global marketing environment. I feel very fortunate to have worked with many INGOs including UNHCR, The Fred Hollows Foundation and ChildFund where I’ve got to use all these skills.
I have always gravitated towards working in NFPs as I was pretty anti-consumerist by nature. All my final year marketing assignments were on the NFP sector, but it took me a while to crack into our industry. I’ve always wanted to help people less fortunate than myself.
