What did you want to be when you grew up? A rock star. My career was sadly cut short by an acute lack of talent.

How did you get into the nonprofit sector? I came to Australia as a backpacker. The only jobs available to people like me were fruit picking, bar work or face-to-face fundraising. The opportunity to make the world a better place was by far the most attractive. Even though it can be a really hard job, F2F fundraisers get to inspire people to make a difference. The feeling when someone says they want to help is joyous for everyone involved. As it turns out, standing next to thousands of people as they make a decision about whether or not they want to support an organisation is a great way to learn about fundraising.
