We speak to Geoff Hills, CEO of Streetsmart Australia

What did you want to be when you grew up? I think my earliest memory of a career ambition dates back to when I was about nine years old, and I secured a spot in the school choir. This sparked an ambition to front stages around the world. Unfortunately, it turned out I couldn’t hold a note. After that early realisation, I initially saw myself as an HR manager, as I loved business management, people management and recruiting.
How did you get into the nonprofit sector? It really came about as an opportunity popped up in my local area, straight after my business studies. A position became available to mentor youth and people with a disability via education, employment, and vocational channels, which I saw as a great fit and entry into the world of human resources.
