In the past nine months over 400 fundraisers from 50 countries have answered a simple question: What do you see as the greatest challenge for fundraising today? Looking just at the answers from Australians, five key themes have emerged:

1. Competition and overcontacting By far the most common comment was about too many charities, doing the same things to raise funds from the same people, often for the same purpose, leading to a lack of differentiation and donors feeling overwhelmed.
