At last we’re having a conversation about leadership in fundraising. In fairness, it’s a conversation that’s been building for a few years now. One that’s increasingly being shaped by research, experience and teaching. So that’s

good, isn’t it? It is good that we’re having this conversation. But is it loud enough? And are enough people taking part? Is it getting traction?

One way to answer these questions is to look at what you are doing in fundraising. Is your focus just on fundraising practices and programs – do you do fundraising? Or, are you looking at a bigger picture and working to build fundraising? There is a difference. It’s leadership. And there is a difference in results too. A big difference. Research tells us that.
