Supporters can now connect with Strava or Fitbit to track their fitness activity on their fundraising page. GoFundraise is the only digital platform to offer both Fitbit and Strava integration.
Your organisation’s supporters can now easily connect their GoFundraise page to Strava and start sharing their fitness data with their network. This gives fundraisers another reason to engage with their fundraising page and to share it frequently.
Charities can now also create mobile optimised virtual events for use with Fitbit and Strava in minutes, using GoFundraise’s fundraising and event builder Event Creator Vision.
GoFundraise fundraising pages now show an ‘activity tracker’, including stats on total distance, steps, calories and time, as well as ‘recent activity’, which includes stats on individual activity as well as maps of activity. Fundraisers can use this feature for free.
“We want to make digital fundraising and virtual events as accessible as possible,” says GoFundraise CEO and co-founder Stuart Finlayson. “Fitbit was the obvious activity tracker for us to sync with, firstly because it’s the most popular health and fitness app for both iOS and Android. Strava is the leading fitness app for cyclists and popular with runners. We’re excited to add Strava to our fitness offering for free across the platform.”
GoFundraise released its Fitbit integration last year after working closely with the Melanoma Institute Australia to meet its requirements for its Melanoma March event.
Carole Renouf, CEO of the Melanoma Institute Australia, says: “Melanoma March had terrific growth in 2016 with over 45% year-on-year growth, however we were reaching capacity with what we could achieve with physical events and we had participants who couldn’t make it to our locations. We are looking forward to being able to grow Melanoma March virtually with the Fitbit innovation.”
Empowering supporters to connect with Strava is the latest groundbreaking release from GoFundraise, plus the organisation recently launched its new API, which allows external platforms and sites to connect with GoFundraise.
GoFundraise has also innovated the world’s best mobile experience to be released this month: enabling supporters to donate in less than 30 seconds or create a fundraising page in just two clicks! Finlayson adds, “GoFundraise is committed to developing new innovations that help charities raise more funds online while reducing costs and ensuring the latest technology is available.”
