Giving Australia 2016: givers & volunteers


In part three of our series on the Giving Australia 2016 report, Associate Professor Wendy Scaife suggests her biggest concern is fewer givers, giving more.


giving australia 2016 givers and volunteersThis third item in F&P’s Giving Australia 2016 series provides core data that nonprofit/volunteer organisations, givers and volunteers can use. It highlights key findings from the largest population of giving Australians – everyday Australian givers and volunteers – and is based on the meaty Individual Giving and Volunteering report.

This study draws on:

• a review of previous research captured in the Giving Australia 2016 Literature Review (busy change-makers might enjoy the summary version on 19 giving topics!)
• 31 interviews and 25 focus groups regarding giving and volunteering in Australia
• a representative telephone survey of 6,201 adult Australians, stratified by age and gender across all states and territories.
