A new FIA program aims to bring governance nous to fundraisers and senior not-for-profit executives.  Kim Carter explains.

Recent challenges in the fundraising sector in the UK and Australia have flagged the need for better management and greater board director expertise in charities and not-for- profit organisations. But where do time poor fundraising professionals go to skill up for these roles?

One way is to complete the Fundraising Institute Australia and Australian Institute of Company Director’s Governance Foundations for Not-for-Profit Directors Program. Launched in 2017, this joint-association, two-day intensive course helps fundraisers wanting to move into executive-level jobs or board directorships sharpen their skills in not-for-profit governance, financials and board leadership.
